Education & Inspiration
Dr. Sekhon received her B.S. at UC Irvine and her Medical Doctorate Degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Her internship and residency was completed at the University of Virginia Health Sciences System in Charlottesville, VA.
She knew as a young child that she wanted to be a doctor, but she didn't realize that she had begun her training to help the elderly then also. She was very close to her grandfather and loved to listen to his words of 
wisdom and stories from the old country. Because of her increasing fondness of the elderly, Dr. Sekhon was a constant volunteer at local nursing homes in her home town of Fresno, California. Her favorite time spent there was talking to residents and learning more about their lives. That early experience is one of the key factors that make her such an amazing advocate for the elderly.
Current Practice
Dr. Sekhon serves as the Primary Care Physician for patients at intermediate care facilities – homes with ResCare RCCA – which provides residential care to those with developmental disabilities in the Northern California region.
The doctor is currently a certified hospice medical director with Sutter Care at Home in Roseville, CA. Previously Dr. Sekhon worked with Bristol Hospice for four years.
As a certified medical director, she provided post-acute care services for patients at two local skilled nursing facilities. Dr. Sekhon previously had been an outpatient care provider as a board-certified family medicine practitioner.
She is a member of the American Medical Director’s Association as well as their state chapter, California Association of Long Term Care Medicine (CALTCM).
Dr. Sekhon currently serves on the CALTCM Executive committee as Treasurer; previously she had served 2 years as Vice President. Additionally, she is involved in planning conferences with the Education committee and co-editing their online publication the CALTCM Wave.
